The moral principles affecting Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) is the domain of the branch of theology called moral theology. It has to do with human behavior in relation to the plan of God as found in the sources of Revelation. Hence, we must seek these principles in Sacred Scripture and Tradition, as well as in the pronouncements of the Magisterium and in the living practice of the Church.
